The California gubernatorial recall elections will conclude later today, and the results of the movement could have a major effect on the future of political culture and civics across the nation, regardless of who wins. Larry Elder, a Right-Wing Political Commentator and Radio Host who has become the central competitor to the current Governor of California are different than other popular republicans in his state, and America. The Republican norms are to suggest the presidential election of 2020 was ‘‘rigged’’ and that the rhetoric of Donald Trump on January 6th was exploratory and okay. It is the opinion of the Republican base that Trump is the future of the party, but the right-wing gubernatorial base is very reluctant to make that apparent. They're taking a strategically sharp move. The decision by Republican Governors to remain silent on the matter is a conscious one. One that tries to mitigate the chances of the entire political future (ie. all the people in power on the right) do not tarnish their reputation and stature amongst fellow Republicans. If Larry Elder wins, however, that could push forward disputed election lies as a mainstream Republican idea, and push others to follow. But, if Gavin Newsom this would be great for Republicans across the nation, for the next Governor of California to get to select a replacement senator for Diane Feinstein who is 88 years old, is likely to step down soon. It’s just the second recall election in the state to qualify for the ballot, but the second in the past 20 years. That previous recall, in 2003, resulted in actor Arnold Schwarzenegger becoming governor, so there is a legitimate chance Elder wins today. If he does, this could be the Republican's opportunity to retake the Senate and regain power in Washington. Today's California Election affects far more than just Californians. So it is imperative that Americans keep that it mind while watching tonight's coverage of the recall elections.
